The drum granulator is one of the most widely used and mature granulation devices in the compound fertilizer industry. It is particularly suitable for large-scale production of cold and hot granulation, as well as high-, medium-, and low-concentration compound fertilizers. As the core choice for large-scale compound fertilizer manufacturers, it enjoys extremely high market penetration and can meet the production demands of 1–20 tons per hour. Its operating principle involves an electric motor driving the drum to rotate. Material enters the drum through the feed end. Through the rotational force of the drum and the action of internal scrapers, the material continuously rolls and collides. Simultaneously, steam heating or binder spraying can be introduced to allow the material to agglomerate into pellets under suitable temperature and humidity conditions. The pellets are finally discharged from the discharge end, completing the granulation process. This design eliminates the need for traditional scraper mechanisms and enables automatic removal of lumps and irregularities.
Its core advantages include:
- 1. High production capacity and efficiency, stable operation, and continuous, uninterrupted production. It easily meets large-scale production demands while offering low power consumption and maintenance costs;
- 2. High pellet strength, smooth appearance, and excellent particle uniformity. The pellets are resistant to breakage, leading to high drying efficiency, reduced drying energy consumption, and enhanced market competitiveness of the finished fertilizer;
- 3. Wide raw material adaptability: It can process various compound fertilizer raw materials, including mixed materials such as organic, inorganic, and bio-fertilizers, without the need for strict control of raw material fineness, offering strong adaptability;
- 4. The cylinder is lined with special rubber sheets or acid-resistant stainless steel, providing corrosion and wear resistance, a long service life, and convenient operation and maintenance, thereby reducing equipment wear and tear costs.
